Icebreaker: How Strange!


Purpose

This is an entertaining exercise that gives the delegates a chance to relax and to interact with each other. This is an ideal ice breaker if you want to start the day with a laugh!

Objective

Delegates introduce their team mates in a memorable way.

Setup

  • Split groups into pairs. One person in each team acts as an interviewer and has one minute to find out his or her team mate’s name, education and one unusual or funny hobby, habit or experience.
  • Each interviewer then has 1 minute to introduce the interviewee to the group by sharing this information.
  • The pairs in each team then swap places and the process is repeated. 

Timing

Explaining the Test: 5 minutes.

Activity: 20-40 minutes depending on the size of the group
