Purpose

At the end of each training session, it is ideal to test delegate’s knowledge about the topics covered during the session. You can make the process more entertaining by making the test feel like a game. You can apply the questioning format presented here to test delegates’ knowledge about a given topic. The only requirement is that you need to prepare a number of questions before the course.

Objective

Answer questions correctly to avoid getting eliminated and win.

What You Need

  • A number of cards or boards labelled “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”. You need one set for each delegate. You can easily make these cards yourself by printing and laminating them for repeated use.
  • A set of questions and 4 possible answers for each. You must prepare these before the course. Place each question and corresponding four answers on a single slide (if possible). You can then navigate through the slides as you go through the questions.
    • Aim for about 10 to 15 questions.
    • Arrange the questions from easy to more difficult.
  • Prize

Setup

  • Give one set of boards to each delegate.
  • Explain that you will now ask them a question.
  • Show the first question on the slide along with the 4 possible answers, “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”.
  • Allow them time think about the questions. .
  • After 30 seconds, say “Answers please”.
  • On your mark, delegates should raise the correct board that corresponds to their chosen answer. Make sure no one cheats by waiting to see what others vote for.
  • While the boards are still raised, reveal the answer. Those who answered correctly move to the next round. Those who answered incorrectly are eliminated.
  • Continue with the questions until all questions have been answered and you have a winner.

Timing

Explaining the Exercise: 2 minutes

Activity: 10 minutes

Group Feedback: 0 minutes

Discussion
