Creativity Exercise: Dream Board


Purpose

This exercise aims to encourage creativity and goal settings by engaging participants in a fun exercise where they have to work collectively in preparing a professional dream board.

Objective

Each team has to produce a dream board representative of what they want to achieve professionally.

What You Need

For each team you need:

  • 1 flipchart
  • 1 scissor
  • 1 glue stick or sticky tapes
  • A couple of magazines relevant to delegates jobs and responsibilities. Examples are management magazine, technology magazine, computer magazine, internal decoration magazine and so on.

Setup

Split the group into teams of four or five people. Each team has 15 minutes to use the words, pictures or articles in the magazines and make their own collective dream board. Each team’s dream board should be representative of their ideas, goals and aspiration for future professional life.

Timing

Explaining the Test: 5 minutes.

Activity: 20 minutes

Group Feedback: 20 minutes.

Discussion

Explain and discuss the concept of laws of attraction and the idea that we are more likely to achieve our goals by knowing exactly what we want.
