Dr. Ethan (Ehsan) Honary is the founder of Skills Converged. Ethan’s background is in software engineering and technology. He has a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh followed by a PhD from the University of West of England in Bristol.
After finishing his studies, Ethan joined the space industry and started working on various international projects which involved a lot of thinking about going to Mars!
During his scientific researches, Ethan became increasingly interested in cognitive psychology, science of learning, emotional intelligence and eventually the training industry. His interest and passion in the subject grew strong enough that he eventually decided to leave his full-time job in the space industry to establish a new training company; Skills Converged was born.
More than a decade later, his work through training materials, books, guides and articles are helping and empowering thousands of trainers around the world. Over the years, Skills Converged has had many big brand clients such as the BBC, BMW, NHS, Etihad Airways, Adidas and Barbican theatre. Various universities and many government agencies globally from US, Australia and other countries are also among the clients
Ethan has gathered experiences in a variety of seemingly different fields; in manufacturing where he worked as an electronics engineer, in science and academia as a researcher and in the corporate industry in a variety of roles such as software developer, business analyst and project manager. In the training industry, he has delivered countless management and soft skills courses, and has authored books. His book on Train the Trainer, published under Skills Converged brand, is a best seller in the field.
Ethan’s latest adventure in the past few years involved extensive exploration of 19th century atelier techniques in training artists. He is a keen amateur painter working mainly on representational art with favourite mediums of oil, pastel and charcoal. Through his own training, Ethan has discovered that we can learn a lot from proven atelier techniques used by the old masters. He applies these successful techniques to develop informative and inspiring modern training courses.
