Team Building Exercise: Engage Others


Purpose

This fun activity encourages participants to get to know each other better and interact more with their team mates especially those they don’t usually work or socialise with. This exercise is most suitable in the beginning of the training session or after lunch.

Objective

Delegates to go through their task sheets and follow the instructions on the sheet.

What You Need

  • A copy of the task sheet (At the bottom of this page) for each delegate.

Setup

  • Give each participant a copy of the task sheet.
  • Explain to the group that they have 10 minutes to go through their task sheets and carry out the instructions. They should make a note for each task on the sheet.
  • At the end of the activity, review the sheets.
  • Follow with a discussion.

Timing

Explaining the Test: 5 minutes.

Activity: 10 minutes

Group Feedback: 10 minutes.

Discussion

How did this activity help delegates to interact with others in the group? Was this a useful way of getting to know some of their team mates? How would you improve the task sheet?

 

 


Task Sheet

Task 1:

Shake hand with 2 people in the group and record their names.

Ask 2 people in the group about their most recent holiday. Record these 2 peoples’ names and their answers.
