Purpose

The aim of this exercise is to prepare the participants for an energised and productive training session. Delegates are encouraged to get rid of all their negative feelings and perceptions at the beginning of the session.

Objective

Delegates to throw away their negative feelings and perceptions into a waste basket.

What You Need

  • Scrap papers
  • Waste baskets

Setup

  • Ask delegates to sit behind a desk or table with a waste basket in front of every 6 delegates.
  • Explain to participants that they should write down their negative feelings or perceptions on a piece of paper, then wad up the paper and throw it into the basket. Delegates should write down 1 feeling or perception on each piece of paper.
  • Give each delegate a piece of chocolate or some other prize for their effort in becoming more positive.

Timing

Explaining the Test: 2 minutes.

Activity: 5 minutes

Group Feedback: 1 minute.
