Has any one every tried combing soft skills training with language classes for advanced students.

The clients I have are okay with reading and writing, but they really need to focus on speaking skills. Also many of the candidates lack the necessary soft skills to work in a corporate environment.

Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think this highly depends on the language skill level of your students. Soft skills are quite broad. I guess you can easily mix content such as body language with learning a language because they are quite related. But, more advanced topics such as emotional intelligence, assertive behaviour and similar topics can be too far from learning a new language or too difficult to explain if you only want to talk in the new language while training them. I guess the topics need to be delivered in conjunction with each other in septate modules much like university courses. So while a person is learning a language they can also learn about communication skills, though this might need to be done in their own mother language.

Just some thoughts really, I don't know anyone who has done this.

This is very useful Ehsan. Thanks for sharing. I think taking the plastic to the class is more impressive because students can see for themselves firsthand.

Very good ideas here. You can also use 3D jigsaw puzzles. They are usually straight forward to explain and it also encourages team work and participation.
